On November 10, 2020, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine strongly protested against the illegal open of the Honorary Consulate of Nicaragua in annexed Crimea and illegal and not agreed with Ukraine visit of the ambassador of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation Alba Azucena Torres to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The illegal handing over of the consular patent is a major violation of the legislation of Ukraine and international law, particularly the resolutions of the UN General Assembly. The Foreign Ministry stated that such actions are considered a directly unfriendly step from the side of Nicaragua toward Ukraine that facilitates the aggression of Russia and its attempt of the annexation of an integral part of Ukraine such as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

As we reported, Panama’s Foreign Ministry will monitor the situation with the entry of ships under the Panamanian flag into the ports of the Russia-occupied Crimea.
