Thirteen members of the committee voted in favor of the proposal "to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to decide by voting on the support or non-support of the statement of the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov on resignation."
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine's Interior Minister Avakov resigned.
His resignation letter may be considered by the parliament this Thursday, July 15.
President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed a candidate for the office of Minister of Internal Affairs at a meeting of the Servants of the People faction. Zelensky nominated Denys Monastyrsky, the current head of the law enforcement committee of the Verkhovna Rada, for the position of Interior Minister.
"The meeting of the faction has begun. The president and prime minister are present. President has nominated Denis Monastyrsky for the position of Interior Minister," the lawmaker Oleksandr Kachura wrote.
