Ukraine’s parliament may consider banking law on May 13

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine may consider the bill on banks on Wednesday, May 13 as Ukrinform reported citing Parliament’s Speaker Dmytro Razumkov.

“As of today, the amendments were received (to the bill on banks, - from the parliamentary factions and groups but, if I am not mistaken, not everyone filed them. the committee will process, add the amendments, which were considered and only after these actions they will be submitted to the session hall. Objectively, I believe that it will take place on Wednesday (May 13, - and it will allow to vote for the bill,” Razumkov said.

The speaker noted that the letter with the signs of the MPs is formed, as well as, the documents, which will be submitted for the consideration on Wednesday. About 20-25 issues will be considered during the session.

According to Razumkov, the bill is passed as soon as possible in accordance with the Regulation and terms of the work of the parliament.

On March 30, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the Bill № 3260 "On amendments to the legislative acts of Ukraine on improving some mechanisms for regulation of banking activities". 267 MPs voted in favor.

The law permanently prohibits the return of nationalized banks to the former owners, prohibits the return of bankrupt banks, whose owners have succeeded in canceling the resolution of the National Bank on their insolvency through the courts, to the market.

On April 30, the Ukrainian parliament supported the usage of a special procedure for bill on banks #2571-d.
