Ukrainian envoy for human rights Lyudmyla Denisova passed her Russian colleague Tatyana Moskalkova medical inquiries, which confirm the grave health conditions of political prisoner Pavlo Gryb. Denisova herself posted that on Facebook.

The Ukrainian official states that currently, the Russian ombudsman has all the necessary information about Gryb's health status. Denisova demands that her Russian counterpart provide the political prisoner with necessary medical assistance and suitable detention conditions.

Interference in the process is necessary now, she says; this is due to the fact that, apart from the serious health concerns, Pavlo announced a hunger strike. That prevents him from taking the medications from gastritis, one of the diseases he suffers from.

Gryb delivered his last plea in court on March 21. On the day after that, Russia's North Caucasus district court sentenced him to six years behind the bars. In turn, the prisoner announced a hunger strike, protesting against the politically motivated decision in his case.
