National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine held a session, where the members discussed the funding of the country's security and defense sector in 2020. Secretary of the Council Oleksandr Danylyuk chaired the session, the authority's press office reported.
The official claimed that the money assigned from the state budget should be used effectively. "The expenses should not look like the hyperbolized essence of the previous years. The society and president of Ukraine expect serious reforms in the security and defense area, which should be reflected in the next year's budget".
In June, U.S. Senate approved the draft law on defense budget for 2020, which provides the allocation of the military aid to Ukraine in the sum of $300 million.
