The National Police of Ukraine will be guarding all the district electoral commissions 24/7. The Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Olexandr Fatsevych stated this, as the press service of the National police reports.
“From today on, we will be guarding all the district electoral commissions, there are 199 of them in Ukraine. Over 400 police officers will be on duty in order to secure order across the country for 24 hours”, the Deputy Head said.
According to Fatsevych, the police guard the supply of the ballot papers to the district electoral commissions, and by the end of the next week, the police officers will guard the polling station as well, after the ballot papers will be brought there.
Besides, the Deputy Head added that 3,787 claims have been registered since the beginning of the election campaign, and the police launched 202 criminal proceedings. 93 are related to the violation of the electoral legislature and 109 have something to do with conducting of the electioneering campaign.
As we reported earlier, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine has created 199 district election commissions for the upcoming presidential election on March 31.
The election campaign has officially started on December 31, 2018. Registration of the candidates was closed on February 4, 2019, and on February 9, the final list of presidential candidates appeared.
