"13/07 political prisoner Oleg Sentsov will mark his birthday in the Russian prison. It is symbolic that on 18/07 the European Parliament will hold a debate and vote for a resolution on "Kremlin political prisoners." Russia must release them! We urge members of the European Parliament to support the resolution!" said in a statement.
We recall, the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov was detained in Crimea in May 2014 on charges of preparing terrorist attacks on the territory of the annexed peninsula. In August 2015, the North Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced him to 20 years in a strict regime colony. In protest, Sentsov refused to eat for 145 days and stopped the hunger strike due to the threat of forced feeding.
