Today, on August 5, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov held negotiations with his colleague from Italy Luciana Lamorgese and discussed Italian mercenaries in Donbas who are fighting on the side of illegal armed groups. Ukraine's Interior Minister wrote about it on his Twitter page.

"We are stepping up cooperation with Italian Interior Minister L. Lamorgese to combat organized crime, drug trafficking, and illegal migration. I am grateful for the clear position on Italian mercenaries fighting on the side of Russian illegal armed groups in eastern Ukraine: three of them are already imprisoned. We will pass the information on the other twenty!" wrote Avakov.

As we reported earlier, the Office of Prosecutor General of Ukraine registered a criminal proceeding due to the participation of French mercenaries in the Donbas conflict.

"Since 2014 till now, 20 citizens of the French Republic participated in armed conflict against Ukraine, as part of the irregular and illegal armed formations of the Russian Federation, on the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which led to human fatalities and other severe consequences," Ukrainian prosecutors claimed.
