The criminal case, opened in Ukraine against former US Vice President Joseph Biden, will become one of the important topics in the U.S. election race. President of the United States Donald Trump said this, as Fox News reported.
Trump was asked if he thought the investigation would affect the U.S. election campaign.
“This will be an important topic during the campaign. I will keep mentioning this because I do not know how they can get out of this," the American leader said.
Speaking about Biden and his supporters, Trump said: "I do not see how they can answer that."
As we reported earlier, Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) registered criminal proceedings on the pressure on ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin by the former US Vice President Joseph Biden, as Interfax-Ukraine informed.
“The SBI entered information about a criminal offense into the Unified register of pre-trial investigations,” Shokin's lawyer Oleksandr Teleshetsky said at a press conference.
The lawyer reported that it was being investigated under Part 2 of Art. 343 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (interference with the activity of a law enforcement officer).
