Ukraine's Interior Ministry identifies culprits behind riots near President's Office

Ukraine's Interior Ministry revealed the names of invidivuals it suspects of organization of riots during the protest action near the building of President's Office on March 20. Anton Herashchenko, the deputy minister left the list of suspects on his Facebook page.

According to police workers, the suspects' list is as follows:

1. Vladyslav Hranetsky-Stafiychuk

2. Serhiy Filimonov

3. Vadym Adamov

4. Roman Ratushny

5. Oleskiy Bilkovsky

6. Oleg Kobezky

7. Denys Mishchenko

The first suspect in the list is already arrested; he faces suspicion with hooliganism. The police claim to hand over more suspicion notices in the near future.

Deputy Minister Anton Herashchenko said that the riot organizers planned scuffles with law enforcers; they were eager to "provoke violence and bloodshed", he wrote on Facebook.

According to the official, the law enforcers retreated to avoid large-scale violence.

As is known, on March 20, supporters of radical activist Serhiy Sternenko held a rally which turned into a riot near the walls of the President's Office in Kyiv. Protesters threw firecrackers at the building and pelted some paint on the walls; several windows were broken. They demanded resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. The estimated damage to the building made some USD 70,000. The paint will be washed off the walls in four days.
