Ukrainian government intends to create a system for tracing contacts of persons infected with coronavirus. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal announced this on his Telegram channel.
"The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and other responsible bodies must create an effective system for tracing contacts of people who have become ill with Covid-19. These epidemiological investigations must be systematic, with strict control over self-isolation. This will allow us to respond more quickly and break the chains of diseases," says the message.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to mobilize to prevent the second wave of Covid-19. Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Shmygal to urgently conduct a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of hospitals to provide care to patients, to provide institutions with all the necessary equipment.
In Ukraine, 1,489 new cases of coronavirus disease Covid-19 were recorded - this is an anti-record for the number of new patients per day. This is stated on the Coronavirus_info Telegram channel.
"On August 8 (as of 9:00) in Ukraine 79,750 laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 1,879 were lethal, 43,655 patients recovered. 1,489 new cases were recorded per day. A total of 1,154,378 PCR tests were carried out. 600 patients," the message says.
