The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine filed the note of the protest to the Foreign Ministry of Russia due to the visit of the Russian delegation headed by Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to annexed Crimea that was not agreed with Ukraine as its press service reported.
"The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine expressed the strong protest due to the stay of Russia's Prime Minister D. Medvedev at the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol on July 28-29, 2018 that is not agreed with Ukraine," the message said.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry emphasized the inadmissibility of the stay of the Russian officials at the sovereign territory of Ukraine in its internationally recognized territories, including Crimea, without the agreement of Ukraine.
It is noted in the message that the stay of Medvedev at the territory of Crimea is a severe violation of the state sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine, cynical and demonstrative Russia's disregard of the universally recognized norms of the international right, commitments on the bilateral and multilateral agreements in which both Ukraine and Russia participate, including the UN Charter and UNGA resolutions.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine in its internationally recognized borders.
Crimea was annexed by Russia by way of the illegal referendum that was held at the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier the Russian militaries that stayed there without any marking conquered all strategic military objects and building of the force and state bodies. The results of the referendum were not recognized by Ukraine and the world society. The number of the European and world countries, including Ukraine imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.
