Pavlo Klimkin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, is going to New York with a working visit, during which he is to meet António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, in order to discuss the situation in Donbas, as the minister told journalists during a briefing in Kharkiv.
“Tomorrow I’m going to New York, where I am to meet the UN Secretary-General. However, for now, Russia strongly refuses the mission which should bring peace to Donbas. And it means that Russian exits and the international contingent takes place in Donbas. So the question is not about time, it’s about content. We will continue pressuring Russia, and we have some additional ideas with both the U.S. and the EU,” Klimkin said.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister also explained that Russia can be pressured with new sanctions. “Just now the USA introduced new sanctions against Russia as Russia violates the agreement on intermediate-range missiles, and there are also mechanisms of political pressure,” he added.
