The EU needs tougher countermeasures against the Russian propaganda in the EU and Eastern Partnership member countries. Pavlo Klimkin, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, said this at a joint press conference in Kyiv, where his counterparts from Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic were present as well.

‘As for the Russian propaganda and the hybrid war against the entire EU space… My opinion is one has to pay more efforts to counteract the Russian propaganda, specifically, making up fake news,’ Klimkin said.

According to the Ukrainian official, Russia has been spending a lot of money to create ‘parallel dimensions.’

“One of the topics that we discussed is our cooperation with EU and Stratcom (NATO Centre for Strategic Communications, - 112 International). The issue of how to resist the Russian propaganda matters a lot for the entire Eastern Partnership, and we’re going to discuss that tomorrow,’ the Ukrainian minister said.
