The next meeting of ministers of the Normandy Four member countries could take place in the near future. Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, reported that during his meeting with German counterpart Heiko Maas.
The actual date depends on the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Soon enough, we'll have another such conversation where we are to discuss solutions that will bring peace to Donbas", Kuleba said.
The Ukrainian official turned to Maas, asking to help him provide the access of the Red Cross mission to Ukrainians that are illegally held in the annexed Crimea and Russia.
“If such representatives of the population should be involved in the negotiations then they should be not involved in the military actions or murders of our soldiers and they should have nothing to do with the separatists and terrorist organizations. They should be recognized representatives of the civilians,” he said.
According to Yermak, Minsk Talks, which last for years, ‘were not the talks in fact’, the decisions of the Paris Normandy Format Summit are not fulfilled: every day the Ukrainian soldiers die and the new disengagement areas are not approved at the Trilateral Contact Group Talks. The only visible success from the summit holding is the prisoner swap between Ukraine, Russia and so-called people’s republics but there are still many arrested people who can be exchanged.
“It really prevents us to move along other issues,” Yermak added.
