Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko went to the United Kingdom to take English lessons. His press secretary Larisa Sargan reported this to Ukrainian News portal.
“Yuriy Lutsenko had planned this for a long time and he is now taking English courses in the UK. He flew away on Sunday and will be out of Ukraine for the next month and a half,” Sargan said.
According to the spokesperson, the ex-Prosecutor General’s departure has nothing to do with the scandal in the United States over the transcript of a conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which mentions the investigation of the Burisma company and the son of former US Vice President Hunter Biden.
As it was reported earlier, Yuriy Lutsenko said that his country has no reason to investigate the actions of President Donald Trump's political rival Joe Biden. Lutsenko - who succeeded Mr Shokin and stood down last month - said there was no plan to open the investigation into Burisma, and that any investigation into Hunter Biden would have to start in the US.
