Ukraine's ex-Foreign Minister released from remand centre

Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara, the suspect in the case of homicide, is now free. He left the remand centre he has stayed until now. 

Kateryna Starytska, the daugther of the victim (Serhiy Starytsky, the ex-Head of Directors Board of Inter TV channel, - 112 International), reported that on Facebook.  

"Kozhara put a bail and walked free", she wrote.

In March 2020, Shevchenkivsky district court in Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Leonid Kozhara in the form of detention - up to May 25.

The court also determined a bail in the amount of a little more than $500,000. In the case of making a bail, he was entrusted with the obligation not to leave the place of residence, to appear at the request of the prosecutor or investigator, and to hand over documents for traveling abroad.

Leonid Kozhara served as the Foreign Minister of Ukraine in 2012-2014. During the Revolution of Dignity, the regime of President Yanukovych was toppled, and most government members fled the country. Kozhara was among them. However, later he returned to Ukraine.
