Ukraine’s ex-Finance Ministers’ arrested property costs $230 million

Prosecutor’s Office also press charges against 46 involved in a criminal organization

The arrested property of the Former Minister of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko (during Yanukovych rule) and his affiliated companies costs around 230 million dollars. This was reported by the Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko in Facebook.

Also, the prosecutor's office in this case announced suspicion to 46 people involved in the criminal organization of the ex-minister.

"According to the interim results, 46 people were pressed charges, including heads of regional tax agencies, including former Minister of Revenue and Duties Klymenko," Lutsenko wrote.

Lutsenko also noted that currently 9 people are in custody, another 18 people are under a bail for a total amount of 2,2 million dollars. The property of the suspects was arrested in the amount of 35 million dollars.

"Among the arrested property of offices related to Klymenko: two residential buildings and three plots of land in the village of Kozyn with total cost of almost 5,4 million dollars, an apartment in the capital center worth more than 771,605 dollars, commercial premises in Gulliver Trade House worth 9,5 million dollars and a department store in Donetsk worth more than 8,8 million dollars, " the message reads.

As it was reported earlier there were searches in Kyiv in case of ex-Minister Klymenko. The searches wrre conducted in Kyiv and Odesa.

National Police Department on Economic Protection published a video of searches in the capital’s shopping mall “Gulliver” conducted in the framework of investigation in case against Ukraine’s former Minister of Revenue and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko.
