Ukraine's Minister of Defense

Ukraine's armed forces do not need to be fully adapted to NATO standards, but it is important for the Armed Forces to interact with Alliance's forces. It was stated by newly-appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran. The broadcast was provided by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

"Given our realities, the main objective of the Defense Ministry should be our real goal - to maximize the ability of the Armed Forces to interact with Alliance's forces, instead of the ambitious, but the unachievable goal of fully adapting the Armed Forces to NATO standards in the near future," Taran said.

The Minister of Defense also informed that there was a transition of the systems of military governing bodies into J, G, S structures. However, such changes are only part of the "multidimensional process of reforming the Armed Forces".

As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the structure of Ukraine's defense plan. The Cabinet of Ministers is obliged to develop the plan and submit it to the National Security and Defense Council.
