Ukraine's Defense Council imposes sanctions against Yanukovych, Azarov

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has imposed sanctions against former high-ranking officials and law enforcement officers. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov stated this during a briefing following the meeting of the National Defense Council.

Sanctions were imposed, in particular, against ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and ex-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"Now I will announce the list of citizens against whom Ukraine has imposed sanctions," Danilov said.

As the NSDC secretary said, in addition to the former president and prime minister, the sanctions list included:

  • Oleksander Bobkov;
  • Valeriy Grytsay;
  • Konstantyn Zatulin;
  • Petro Zyma;
  • AndriyIvantsov;
  • Oleh Kyrylov;
  • Vadym Kolesnychenko;
  • Volodymyr Konstantynov;
  • Serhiy Kurchenko;
  • Serhiy Kusyuk;
  • Pavlo Lebedev;
  • Leonyd Pasichnyk;
  • Oleksander Piddubov;
  • Natalia Poklonska;
  • Victor Pshonka;
  • Dmytro Salamatin;
  • Ihor Sorkin;
  • Dmytro Tabachnyk;
  • Mykola Tkachenko;
  • Mykola Fedoryan;
  • Mykola Fyskov;
  • Oleksander Shcherbytsky;
  • Olha Checherymova.

Earlier, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has extended sanctions against two Russian banks for another three years. 

The sanctions were to due to end on March 19.
