Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley met with Ruslan Khomchak, Chief of General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces. U.S. Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill reported that on January 14.
The meeting took place at the NATO HQ in Brussels.
"Ukraine is a key partner to NATO and plays a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in Europe", reads the story on the website of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Khomchak and Milley discussed the current security situation in Europe.
Besides, during his visit to NATO HQ, Ukraine's Chief of General Staff met with his counterparts from the Great Britain, Romania, Lithuania and Poland. The sides dicsussed boosting the military cooperation between Ukraine and the NATO member countries.
Earlier, Dmytro Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration said that Ukraine intends to send 20 military servicemen to Iraq, as soon as the NATO mission resumes its work in the region.
