The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to establish a Ministry of Strategic Industries. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal.

"Today we officially launch the creation of a new ministry that will be responsible for the development of the industrial sector. There must be a new approach to the development of the industry through the formation of effective state policy and strategy," the statement said.

The newly-established Ministry will be headed by Vice Prime Minister Oleh Urusky. It should be noted that its main priority is a high-tech defense industry, which has significant potential in Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, on July 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky officially introduced the new Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Kyrylo Shevchenko.

"Today I am pleased to officially present the new head of the National Bank Kyrylo Shevchenko. As president, I fully support the statement that the head of the NBU should be independent. In addition to independence, the head of the NBU must have at least three other important qualities: professionalism, courage, and responsibility. I am convinced that Mr. Shevchenko is just the right kind of person," Zelensky said.
