Ukraine’s Cabinet approves elimination of State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate

On Friday, March 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft of resolutions "On optimization of state architectural and construction control and supervision bodies" and "On elimination of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate and amendments to some resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine", Interfax-Ukraine reports.

During the meeting, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated: "We are eliminating the monopoly in the field of urban development. I will say these words that all honest construction businesses of Ukraine expected: we will eliminate DABI (State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate - 112 International). The process of obtaining state services will be transparent, convenient and with minimal influence of officials on decision-making."

As we reported earlier, in 2020, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) plans to begin the construction of a narrow gauge of European standard from Lviv to the border with Poland.

It noted that Polish and Czech railway workers had already shown interest in that project.
