The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed local shops to sell household chemicals and press during the lockdown. Representative of the government in the Parliament Vasyl Mokan said so in the interview for Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"The Healthcare Ministry today added these goods to the list of goods that can be purchased", Mokan said.
He added that the government did not change the dates of the lockdown.
Earlier, Healthcare Minister Lanksym Stepanov said that information about the alleged ban on the sale of certain non-grocery goods during the lockdown was fake. "I saw this information that emerged on the Internet; it's untrue. During the period from January 8 to 25, they can sell food in the trading areas, where at least 60 percent of the area serves to sell food products, drugs, medical goods, hygiene products, communication devices, veterinary products, seeds, and plant protection goods", Stepanov said.
During the lockdown, other groups of goods can be ordered and delivered online. As for the household chemicals, Stepanov said that the government would still have to make some corrections during the session on January 5. According to him, the government compiled the list of goods allowed for sale, considering that the lockdown would last for 16 days.
