The Ukrainian army received seventy units of armored vehicles and a number of weapons. The list includes restored tanks and armored personnel carriers, missile launchers, mortars and armored cars.
Part of the hardware and armaments will go to military schools, the rest will go to the division line in the combat area of Donbas.
Last month, tests of new Bars-8MMK 120mm mortar carrier vehicle, mounted on an armored car was held in Ukraine. The press office of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) reported this on Wednesday.
According to Secretary of NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov, Ukrainian manufacturers built the mortar carrier vehicle, which is based on the Bars-8 armored car.
‘The mortar carrier vehicle can quickly reach the required firing point. Its computer system allows to be positioned on the ground; it takes only one minute to start firing from a carrying position,’ Turchynov said.
According to him, it takes the crew of the vehicle, which includes three people, only 20 seconds to abandon a firing position.
He also advised that the vehicle is equipped with 60 mines and an automatic system of deployment and fire management.
