Valeriy Chaly, Ukraine's ambassador in the U.S. met with Roy Blunt, the Republican Senator from Missouri and the Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee. The Ukrainian Embassy posted that on Facebook.
'Taking into account that Senator Blunt is the member of the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations, discussion of the prospects of increasing the 2020 U.S. budget expenditures to support Ukraine's defense and security sphere was a specific topic for discussion', reads the message.
The Ukrainian official updated the Senator on the latest developments in the occupied section of Donbas and the annexed Crimea and insisted that the further strengthening of Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership is crucial.
Chaly confirmed that his country and the civil society have been holding on to the stable path of democratic changes, reforms and the strategic course of integration with the EU and NATO.
