The draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2021 provides for 2.6 billion hryvnias (93.1 million dollars) for the purchase of coronavirus vaccines. This was stated by the Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko during a briefing.

In total, the new budget envisages 19.4 billion hryvnias (695.3 million dollars) for the fight against the coronavirus infection. Another one billion hryvnias (35.6 million dollars) will be allocated for the protection of schools.

As we reported earlier, The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved and submitted a draft State Budget for 2021 to the Verkhovna Rada.

"This is a budget of opportunities for economic development and support for our citizens and businesses in the context of 'restarting' the economy after the impact of the coronavirus pandemic," the statement said.

Ukraine's Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko believes that this draft state budget is realistic and balanced as well as based on the macroeconomic forecast adopted by the government in July this year.
