Foreign Ministry of Ukraine works with Mexico, Grenada, China and overseas departments of France on the provision of the visa-free regime to Ukraine as Apostroph reported citing State Secretary of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Zayats.
Soon, Ukraine intends to conclude agreements on the visa-free regime with Grenade; the work is held on the abolishment of the visa regime with Mexico.
In 2020, Ukrainian diplomats plan to achieve the abolishment of visa for the visits of Ukrainians to overseas territories and departments of France; currently, the visa-free regime works only for the continental part of this country.
Concerning China, Zayats reported that there are some areas in this country, where Ukrainians may stay without visa for a few days; mostly, there are priority zones of the tourist development or transit large airports. However, the Foreign Ministry hold talks with China on imposing of 10-year visa, which will be equal to visa-free regime.
According to Zayats, during 11 months of 2019, Ukraine concluded nine agreements on the visa-free regime with different states. Five international agreements entered into force.
As is known, in May 2017, the European Council decided to cancel visas for short-term trips (90 days over the period of 180 days) for Ukrainian citizens, if they visit any of 30 EU countries and the Schenghen area (except for the UK and Republic of Ireland). The visa-free regime started working on June 11, 2017.
