The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision on the withdrawal of Ukraine from the Agreement on the development of exhibitions and fairies activity within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as 112.ua reported.
The explanatory note to the draft regulation of the government published by RBK-Ukraine states that this agreement was worked out for the development of the integration processes in the CIS and strengthening of the international contacts for the assistance in the forming of the common economic and information space. The agreement has become obsolete in general and does not correspond to the modern state of the trade and economic relations between countries.
As it was reported earlier, on April 12, 2018, Petro Poroshenko stated that he indented to present a bill on termination of certain articles of the agreement on friendship with Russia.
The President also called the Cabinet of Ministers for suspending the participation in the Commonwealth's statutory bodies and supported the withdrawal of Ukraine’s representation in the relevant institutions in Minsk. Later, Iryna Lutsenko, the MP from Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the President’s representative in the Parliament, stated that Ukraine would not denounce a series of agreements within CIS, including those on diplomas’ recognition, recruitment and transit.
Later Poroshenko also claimed that Ukraine will reconsider all international agreements with the CIS.
In June 2018, Ukraine withdrew two diplomats from the composition of the statutory bodies of the CIS according to the order of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
Besides, Ukraine's service for foreign intelligence began the official procedure of withdrawal from the CIS Agreement on Cooperation of Intelligence and Security Services in December 2018.
