The situation in Ukraine will remain an obstacle to improvement in relations between US and Russia until full progress in Minsk agreement is made. This was reported by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson during the press conference on the results of the meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to CNN.

"Until full progress is made under the Minsk accords, the situation in Ukraine will remain an obstacle to improvement in relations between the U.S. and Russia," Tillerson stressed.

As it was reported, on April 11 Secretary of State Tillerson arrived in Moscow for the first time as the Head of American Foreign Service. He was meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today.

The media reported that Tillerson would go to Moscow to present evidence that Russia knew about the use of chemical weapons by government forces against civilians in Syria and tried to hide it.

British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson was supposed to arrive in Moscow before Tillerson, but refused to visit because of the situation in Syria.
