Ukraine does not plan to resume water supplies to annexed Crimea. This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, reports Ukrinform.
“Ukraine does not consider the possibility of resuming supplies of Dnipro water to the occupied Crimea. I want all suspicions and speculations on this subject to stop,” said Kuleba.
He added that Ukraine is still in talks with Russia regarding the release of prisoners, additional dsengagement points and the holding of Normandy Summit. Thus, the parties plan to take a step towards de-occupation and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The resumption of water supplies to Crimea was one of the conditions for further settlement of the situation in Donbas, which was put by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the talks in Paris in December 2019. About this, reports the chief editor of Censor.net Yuri Butusov referring to sources.
According to him, during a telephone conversation between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia on February 14, Putin again demanded the resumption of water supply to Crimea as one of the conditions of the agreements at the next Normandy meeting.
“That is why at first the head of the Servants of the People’s faction, David Arahamia, and then the Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced their intention to supply water to the Crimea (Shmygal then denied his words). And that’s why the authorities sent requests to engineering organizations about the preparation of a project to resume water supply to Crimea, "writes Butusov.
According to him, this is a test of public opinion.
"The president’s office is studying whether Ukrainian society is ready to make such concessions to Putin and whether the supply of water to the Crimea can become a topic for agreements with Russia," the journalist said.
