Ukraine expects Iran to take action in order to ensure an unbiased investigation into the causes of the Boeing 737 crash over Tehran. This was stated by Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Yenin in a comment to Radio Svoboda.
"We are waiting for Iran to move from words to specific actions. Even though there is positive rhetoric, the case is actually standing still," Yenin said, commenting on Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mohsen Baharwand's intention to hand over the "black boxes” to France.
According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, Iran’s representative is expected to provide the latest information on flight recorders to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on June 26.
"We are actively working with all our partners to persuade Iran to fulfill its international obligations as soon as possible. It is too early to disclose details, but we are expecting to receive some specifics on this issue on Friday," Yenin said.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine would have to file lawsuits to international courts against Iran if the government of this country did not live up to its commitments in the case of the PS752 crash.
