Ukraine, Turkey agree on cooperation in fight against terrorism, cyber threats

Ukraine and Turkey intend to cooperate in the sphere of the fight against terrorism, illegal transporting of the migrants and human trafficking, cybercrime, money laundering, drug trafficking and transnational organized crime. The documents were signed at the meeting of Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and his Turkish colleague Süleyman Soylu took place as the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

The joint declaration was signed today. Avakov claimed during the ceremony that Ukraine is increasing the cooperation with Turkey in the counteracting terrorism. According to him, there are also the agreements on the cooperation in the military sphere.

“We have the agreements on the cooperation of the border guards, guards, police and rescuers. Also, I thank for cooperation in the military sphere. Now we implement the big project on the modernization of Mi-17 helicopters. There will be 18 of them,” Avakov explained.

Moreover, the sides signed the memorandum on the cooperation of the National Guard and Chief Security Department of Turkey. The document provides the information exchange between the countries in the law enforcement sphere and programs for the advanced training of the police officers.

As we reported State Agency on Energy Efficiency (SAEE) of Ukraine and the Ministry of Energy and Industry of UAE signed a memorandum about mutual understanding in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
