As we reported, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine blocked the implementation of local election results. The court denied the NACP access to state registers which are used to verify declarations of candidates for senior positions in state bodies. In this regard, no official can be officially appointed so far.

Earlier, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized the norm about the criminal responsibility for false declaration unconstitutional. According to the court’s decision, the criminal responsibility for false declaration is ‘excessive punishment’ for a person. The punishment for false declaration is considered  ‘disproportional to the inflicted harm’.
