According to the statement of Health Minister Maksym Stepanov, Ukraine will introduce a full lockdown when the medical system collapses. Stepanov reported about it on the air of ICTV TV channel, RBC Ukraine reports.

"Looking at today's dynamics, we can say that it will be from 25,000 to 30,000 (the potential number of new patients in the near future - 112 International). In this case, the occupancy of our medical system may be about 80%, which is a serious number," said the minister.

It was also noted that the Cabinet of Ministers would make the decision based on the workload of the medical system.

As we reported earlier, WHO Department Director for Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed al-Mandari stated that the worldwide situation with Covid-19 was going to get even worse.

"The future period will be tough, and possibly more difficult than during the first nine months of the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Creation of the new vaccine does not mean the end of the pandemic", the statement said.

The official reiterated that the winter period did not affect the incidence rate.
