Ukraine will not recognize the election of the president of Russia in occupied Crimea and implement the sanctions against its organizers. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed this at the joint briefing with Federica Mogherini, the Vice President of the European Commission as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

‘In the context of the Russian presidential ‘election’ in the next Sunday, I made clear that Ukraine will not recognize the fake election at the temporarily occupied territories and implement the sanctions against the persons involved in the organization of the election process’, Poroshenko said.

The election of the president of Russia will take place on March 18, 2018. The Central Election Commission registered eight candidates, including Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Ksenia Sobchak and Grigory Yavlinsky.

Poroshenko urged the international partners to not send the observers to occupied Crimea for the ‘election’ of Russia’s president.
