The Ukrainian parliament has approved the draft law on gradual implementation of international environmental requirements for transport vehicles. 243 MPs supported the bill, with 226 votes necessary.
‘The project foresees that the Euro-6 standard implementation is postponed from January 1, 2018 to January 1, 2020. Passing this law will also let our citizens purchase cheaper vehicles issued in 2010, paying the lowered excise taxes throughout the next year,’ said Nina Yuzhanina, the Head of the Tax and Customs Policy Parliamentary Committee.
European emission standards define the acceptable limits for exhaust emissions of new vehicles sold in EU and EEA member states. The emission standards are defined in a series of EU directives staging the progressive introduction of increasingly stringent standards.
