The last sessions of local elections in Ukraine will take place in late March. This was reported by the press service of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on its Facebook page.
"What about the election? You joked in the comments that this election will be last forever. So, we will finish in March (we hope)," the CEC wrote.
A total of 174 election processes are about to take place in 24 regions. The next round of elections will take place on January 17 and 24, February 7, February 14, and February 21. The last one is scheduled for March 28.
As we reported earlier, according to Leonid Kravchuk, the head of Ukraine's delegation in Trilateral Contact Group, local elections in the occupied territories of Donbas could be held under the single-constituency system.
The official stated that the Ukrainian Parliament was ready to develop a special law on the election in Donbas, but the elections themselves could only take place after the Ukrainian government restored control over the occupied areas and the section of the border, which were held by Russian militants.
