The Budget Committee of the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress presented a draft law of the law, which foresees assigning financial assistance for Ukraine to the amount of 410 million U.S. dollars. Ukraine’s Embassy in the U.S. reported that on Facebook.
‘Despite considerable decrease of the general budget of the State Department, the volume of assistance for Ukraine remains the same as in 2017, which is no less than 410,465 million dollars,’ reads the message.
The draft law, in particular, foresees the same level of funding of defense initiatives in Ukraine under the Foreign Military Financing program. Besides, the U.S. government may assign extra costs to provide credit guarantees for Ukraine if necessary.
In May, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the Congress-approved law on budget assignations for 2017; under this bill, Ukraine would get at least 560 million dollars of financial assistance.
