Ukraine signs first contract for supply of Covid-19 vaccine

Ukraine has signed the first contract with Sinovac Biotech for the supply of 1.9 million doses of coronavirus vaccine. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President.

Thus, Ukrainian Health Ministry will purchase 1 million 913 thousand 316 doses at the price of 504 hryvnias (17,8 dollars) for one dose. However, Ukrainians will be vaccinated at the expense of the state budget.

It is reported that the drug has not yet been registered for use. The World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to approve it next month.

According to the results of intermediate data, this drug's effectiveness is up to 97%.

Under the terms of the reached agreement, the first batch of the vaccine in the amount of 700,000 doses will be delivered to Ukraine within 30 days after official registration.

As we reported earlier, according to Head of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine Serhiy Kravchenko, COVAX and the UN are still trying to figure out which coronavirus vaccine they will use to vaccinate the population.
