Ukraine sent humanitarian aid to India. The plane with humanitarian aid flew from Kyiv to Delhi. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergencies Ministry.

"In pursuance of the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 19, No. 467-r, to combat the grave consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, the first flight delivers 184 oxygen concentrators to the affected population of India. The second flight will carry another 216 oxygen concentrators," the message says.

Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that Ukraine is ready to provide India with medical oxygen.

On May 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the provision of humanitarian aid to the Republic of India.

In March a new strain of coronavirus with a double mutation was recorded in India.
