Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov has reacted to the information from Western media about the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine as Radio Liberty reported.
Thus, earlier, Western media, citing satellite photos, reported that Russia has increased the number of troops and military hardware near the Ukrainian border.
NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, in his turn, called this information “deliberate disinformation”
"There is a deliberate misinformation of the whole society. Let's just say that what they write there is not true. Today this is not true. We are watching all the processes, this is misinformation, and it is not clear to us why they are doing this…We do not know what will happen tomorrow, today there is no such concentration, such an accumulation of what they write,” Danilov noted.
According to the NSDC secretary, the situation at the Russian-Ukrainian border has not changed in recent days. He added that satellite photographs should be compared "to comparable".
"Let them show pictures that were there a month ago, two weeks ago - you will see the same pictures," he added.
Besides, the relevant information was commented on by Spokesperson of the President of Russia Dmitriy Peskov. He said that the movement of Russian military hardware and army units across the country is "exclusively a matter for Russia," and the latest publications about their appearance near the Ukrainian border "are not even worth commenting on."
“Look, probably, the quality of these publications is not even worth commenting on and should not be paid any attention. We are talking about the border with Ukraine, but they show the border with Belarus,” he said.
As we reported, Politico published new satellite photos taken by Western experts on Monday confirm recent reports that Russia is again concentrating troops and military hardware on the border with Ukraine. The images were taken by Colorado-based US space technology company Maxar Technologies.
