A trilateral meeting of Ukraine, the Russian Federation and European Union concerning the gas transit through Ukraine and European countries will be held in Brussels on July 17. Ukrainian News claim this with the reference to the source familiar with the preparation of the negotiations.
Ukrainian and European side agreed the date and time of the meeting at the beginning of the week in the consultations in Brussels.
The interlocutor of the agency noted that according to the unofficial information the Russian side approved its participation.
According to Viktor Medvedchuk, the Leader of the Ukrainian Choice movement, Ukrainian politicians don’t want to find compromises with the Russian Federation, requiring a support from the West who calls the sides to negotiations.
‘The Ukrainian Parliament adopted a draft decree where decided to address the EU institutions calling to stop the construction of Nord Stream II. Meanwhile, Europe proposes to look for ways to dialogs and constructive cooperation with Russia. Ukrainian politicians are using language ultimatums against the eastern neighbor and are calling the European community to follow their example. Instead of looking for a compromise and beneficial decisions for both countries which will allow saving volumes of gas transit. Kyiv is exacerbating the confrontation with Moscow and at the same time requiring a support from the West,’ the press office of the Ukrainian Choice claimed.
