Ukraine requests 100 Mwatts of emergency assistance from Slovakia

Ukraine's government once again asked Slovakia for emergency assistance from the country's power system. Press office of Ukrenergo state company reported that on November 11.

"(...) the dispatch centre of National Energy Company Ukrenergo activated the emergency assistance from Slovakia's power system in the amount of 100 MWatts so as to provide operational safety and to avoid the shutdown of Burshtyn thermal plant", reads the statement on the company's website.

The reason was the outage of two power units of Burshtyn TPP. Besides, the power unit No.2 resumed work early after maintenance works.

Earlier, on November 2, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus announced that, within the framework of emergency assistance, supplies of electricity to Ukraine had begun. Deliveries were carried out at the request of the Ukrainian side.

The transmission system operator Ukrenergo named the reason for the activation of emergency assistance to Belarus in the power supply is the lack of capacity in the United Energy System of Ukraine in connection with the increased accident rate at the power units of thermal stations.
