Oleh Urusky, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, reported the country's intention to launch its own satellite (Sich 2-30 (2-1)) into Earth orbit by the end of 2021. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

According to him, it is possible if there is enough effective work put into it.

"The presence of such a spacecraft will not only help solve a wide range of problems, both in the interests of the economy and law enforcement agencies, but it will also save budget money that is being spent today on the purchase of services provided by such spacecraft abroad," the statement said.

As we reported earlier, on January 13, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the concept of the national scientific and technical space program of Ukraine for 2021-2025.

It will be financed at the expense of the state budget, taking into account its capabilities.

The document states that Ukraine has the status of a space state due to scientific, engineering, production potential, and a number of measures taken throughout 1992-2020.
