The Ukrainian delegation officially refused from participation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe autumn session due to Russia’s return. The original text of the application is published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Head of the delegation Yelyzaveta Yasko also commented on the situation on her Facebook page.
"We decided would not file the authority of the new Ukrainian delegation for approval during the autumn PACE session on September 30 - October 4. The appropriate document will be Ukraine's reaction to the Russian Federation’s return to the session PACE hall without the implementation of Assembly’s resolution requirements approved in reply on the Russian aggression against Ukraine," she wrote.
According to the official statement of the delegation, Ukrainian representatives will be holding consultations with PACE partners during the autumn session "looking for common solutions, which would allow giving PACE back its reputation of an important example of democracy, rule of law, human rights and freedoms protection in Europe."
