The Ukrainian delegation offered to hold the Normandy Format meeting until the end of 2020 during the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas on November 25 as the Ukrainian side reported on Facebook.
“The holding of the new meeting at the highest level in the Normandy Format until the end of this year, which would sum up the attempts to fulfill the agreements reached on the results of the Paris summit in December 2019 and discuss plans on their further fulfillment – it is the solution offered by the Ukrainian delegation in the existing situation,” the message said.
It is underlined that Head of the Ukrainian delegation Leonid Kravchuk demands from the Russian side as the TCG member to take the political responsibility and take a position officially toward the necessity to fulfill the agreements reached at the highest level in Paris in 2019 until the end of this year.
The Ukrainian delegation also noted that the consolidated position of the leaders of the Normandy Format who adopted a number of documents during their meeting on the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict remains to be the main reference for further work.
As we reported, the Ukrainian side initiated an extraordinary meeting next week. In particular, it is planned to consider six issues, including the release of detainees.
Besides, the Russian side supported the Action Plan in Donbas offered by representatives of occupied Donbas.
