Ukraine offered the Republic of Poland to hold an independent international audit of the work of checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish state border as the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine following a meeting between Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Adamczyk.

According to Kubrakov, the Polish side insists that the issue of granting permits directly depends on the improvement of the situation with queues at the Ukrainian-Polish border. However, as Kubrakov noted, problems with queues are observed from two sides, which can be confirmed by Ukrainian carriers.

"To get out of this situation, we proposed to hold an independent international audit of the work of the border and customs services, identify bottlenecks, and, based on the results of the audit, take appropriate joint decisions that will improve the situation at the border," Kubrakov said.

He added that Ukraine is implementing a number of projects to improve conditions for carriers and passengers, including new roads, the organization of rail links and the modernization of checkpoints.

It is worth noting that the parties agreed on the next meeting of the two ministers in the near future at the checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
