It seems that Ukraine’s visa-free regime with Canada for 2020 is in jeopardy. It was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Andrii Shevchenko, UNN reported.

"There will be no visa-free regime this year. Anyone who is familiar with how Canada works on this issue understands that it will take years, not months, and perhaps many years because the country is quite conservative on this issue. Nevertheless, we are working on it, and it will definitely happen. It will happen in the foreseeable future because both Ukraine and Canada need it," Shevchenko said.

He added that it was possible to reach an agreement on youth mobility, which would allow students to come to Canada for the academic year. The Youth Mobility Agreement is set to provide for simplified entry permits and simplified work permits.

As we reported earlier, on August 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky imposed a temporary visa-free regime for citizens of China who enter Ukraine as tourists.

According to the document, the temporary regime will be active from August 2020 till January 2021. The Chinese citizens who come to Ukraine as tourists will be able to stay in Ukraine without visas for 30 days within the 180-days-long period.
