As of now, Ukraine has no plans to close air connection with the United Kingdom, where a new strain of coronavirus infection has been recently spotted. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy on Telegram.

The Minister noted that Ukraine had a visa regime with Britain that already limited the number of passengers that moved between the countries.

At the same time, Krikliy did not rule out that Ukraine may halt air traffic with the United Kingdom in the future.

"Currently, the flights are mostly performed to return Ukrainians from abroad for the Christmas holidays. We will monitor the situation regarding Covid-19 in the UK and will make this decision if we need to," he wrote.

As we reported earlier, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country would close the borders due to the new strain of Covid-19.

“I have convened the commission of the ministers only to close the flight connections. Since yesterday’s meeting, the mutation of the virus is found in many countries and it is clear for us that it is the beginning of a very quick spread,” the official said.
